What can i say ,425 pounds for a deluxe room with a balcony ,the balcony was flooded ,the room you couldn't swing a cat in ,filthy is an understatement, the shower was tiny ,we are both disabled so couldn't get in it but when I rang was told nothing they could do ,bedding is disgusting there was blood on one of the pillows and no protectors, I wouldnt even give the quilt to my dog to.sleep on I have done everything correctly this time and made an official complaint ,taken pics and videos, the lovely guy who used to own these properties took pride his sons couldn't give a shit as long as the money is coming in but it is going to backfire with so so many complaints ,we spoke to.four other couple's staying in silverstreet suites and they were all disgusted ,what does that tell you .I honestly don't know how they get away with it ,booking .com need to take some accountability too booking on there behalf ,I had to go buy cleaning wipes and clean the place too ,filthy windows ,not a single positive apart from.the veiw but again couldn't enjoy because of the balcony being flooded ,I was told it was self draining when in reality there is a big brush for you to.sweep the the water off so the guests are the self draining lol avoid avoid avoid ,not fit for purpose

Worst room I have ever been in walked in and left after less than 2 minutes. Room smells of shit and old food. Carpets not vacuumed old food in the fridge. Shower tray black with dirt and shit marks down the toilet. Not fit for a dog to sleep in.

Dreadful accommodation room was so small we had to follow each other around just to get to the bathroom. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows were flat from over use. The only good thing about the food was the view and that it was close to the town

Discovery was our favorite place to stay for 10+ years. Its now unrecognisable, dirty, unkempt, and the sons are happy to lie to keep the money. What you boys have done to your Dad's gorgeous pride and joy business would make him turn in his grave. Shame on you.

Location is great. Everything else is poor. Parking requires extra payment and print out of a ticket to display in car window. So what if you're on the road, from overseas, and don't have access to a printer? I wrote out my own ticket on a paper plate and stuck in the car window. Better not clamp my car or tow me away. I was sent two codes for access to my room. One code for the external building door worked fine. Second code for room did not work. Tried to call using the phone number in emails and text messages. Call dropped every time - tried about 15 times over several hours while we were locked out of the room. Sent text messages and emails too. Again, no response. Tried to see if I could get in through another building entrance. Code failed, but another guest came to my rescue. Probably thought I was a bit dodgy and trying to break in. She asked the usual questions: did you enter the '*' at the end of the room code? Yes, I did. Did you call them? Yes, but number doesn't go through. It worked for me yesterday. Tried again and showed her that it didn't. She called the number on her phone. It rang! Someone answered! Explained the problem to Discovery person. Did you enter the right code? Yes. Let's confirm the code. It's correct. Did you enter the '*' at the end? Yes. Discovery lady gave me a new code. While this is happening, a Discovery car with a Discovery man shows up. Hang up the call, and Discovery man asks me if I entered the '*' at the end of the code. Yes! We go into the building, climb the stairs, and he enters his code. Door opens! He says that he'll get a new code sent to me. Meanwhile, we jam a stool in the door so that I don't get locked out. The room is small and musty. Window is open - probably by cleaner or previous guest - but the smell is lingering. Anyway, we've got a bed for the night. Will need to keep window open while we're here. Hope nobody breaks in when we go out. Oh, by the way, Discovery man says that they can't receive calls from phones with international numbers, and can't make calls either. So if you get stuck like me, you'll need to find a local and ask them to call Discovery for you. Not good enough! Most unpleasant start to the stay in Whitby. My wife has difficulty walking, so nowhere to go while locked out.

Awful - the rooms you get look nothing like the pictures. Dirty and basic, the cups and bowls still had tea from the previous occupants in them. No washing up liquid, cloths or tea towels are provided. Booked as a family of 3 but ended up with a one bedroom apartment and a tiny loft room in a separate building a 10 minute walk away. Avoid at all costs.

Very basis room looked like a sauna! Their was a special gest in the bathroom (massive spider) my daughter nearly jumped out of her skin, The bed is VERY CREEKY, Bathroom didn't smell very good think it may have a drainage problem. The room was very small with not a lot of light.

Usually cone here but my room was pretty bad this time. False eyelashes all over, inappropriate prints on the shower glass fake tan all over and even jam on a pillow and a slug o the wall???

Very average accommodation in need of a deep clean. The only good thing was the location and the bed was comfy. I honestly don’t know how they come up with the pricing at all. The pool area was dirty and not at all like the pictures on the website. Dont book look somewhere else

Stayed in Banks. Room was ok for the price, bit cold as heating apparently on a timer but never came on. Shower was fab. Location great as normally stay on the other side of town, so discovered a bit more of Whitby, so a real bonus!

We stayed in Ammonite, when we eventually found it. Parking situation is ludicrous. Ended up having to park miles away and walk back to the apartment, which has it's own car park, but apparently isn't for guests. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the overpowering smell of damp from the bathroom. The ventilation is useless. The shower tray overflows if you run it for more than a few minutes, and the shower control is outside of the shower. There is a strong smell of sewage when you flush the toilet. The "kitchette" is a kettle, microwave, portable hob and a selection of unwashed mismatched cutlery and crockery. Good luck washing any of it as the only sink is in the aforementioned grotty bathroom. Even if it wasn't all rancid, you wouldn't really want to actually cook anything here as it's also the room where you sleep. I wasn't really expecting much from this place, but somehow they still managed to fail to meet my expectations. This place would've been overpriced if it was free.

we stayed in discovery house 7 well close square Whitby what a disappointment there was no sink to wash up in just a small plastic bowl no wardrobe to put your clothes in no towel rail and no kitchen just a work top with a few things on it the room constantly smells of damp and when I phoned customer service they showed no interest at all what a total waste off £800 we won't be staying here again don't waste your money look else where 😡👎

Well what a let down. Last year we stayed with these and the room was great. We had a view of the Abbey. The room was comfortable and we dnjoyed our stay. This time it cost a lot more. Never mind the view not even a window. A sky light is all we had in a corner over the table. Bed wes so uncomfortable. Pillows were just flat. The heater made a noise all night long. No sleep for two nights. Very disappointed.

We arrived at check in time absolutely easy to access to room with the code . It was spotless and clean and the on suite bathroom was lovely . The shower was to die for . Would highly recommended staying here silver Street room 6 and 7

Whilst we knew there was no parking, unloading etc was impossible. The bedding was smelly and had it been covid would have freaked me out. Then 2nd night the flat above (Starfish house )the loft, was hired for a kids party. Children where left on there own, loud music shouting and jumping about till gone 1.30 pm.Parents outside picking up their kids where shouted out with the code to get in the building, Great!

The bedding and mattress protector was stained looked like blood the windows were dirty cobwebs and some kind of black casings maybe small bug waste. Shower trap was dirty toilet brush was disgusting as well as the bottom of the bins. Code would not work for entry to room so had to ring the phone line 15mins before an answer then the fone line was bad so it dropped, no call back to see if that was fine the changed the mombedding. Would not stay there again.

We stayed at the Loft and honestly I don't think we'll go back even tho it was clean. If you're a sauna fan you might as well book a room there because let me tell you there was absolutely no air. Not much light either. A small window in the bathroom and another small window in the room. Couldn't sleep because I was sweating my a** off. Ckeck in at 4pm and check out no later than 9:30. Sorry but I'm there on a holiday and I'm sure cleaning that small room doesn't take 7 hours. Blinders were dusty anyway. The only positive thing was that we couldn't find the correct location (because the given on the email is incorrect) and the lady on the phone was very polite and stayed with us till we found it.

Didn't know what to expect because of the mixed reviews, but we had a really positive experience. We stayed in 'Ammonite' which was a lovely studio apartment. Had stuff to make tea and coffee etc, and a fridge freezer. Bathroom was nice too. Large shower, although drainage wasn't the best (had to keep pausing the shower to stop it overflowing!) When we got there the parking permit wasn't in the room but luckily the warden didn't come round and the accommodation dropped off the one we had pre-paid for later on. It was in a good location, short walk from anywhere you wanted to go. Glad we brought our own fan with us as it was a very hot weekend. Overall a really lovely stay, clean facilities and good value for money I'd say.

Stayed in seagull loft, was told Over phone parking was outside. When we parked up was told by an employee we can't park there and produced a scratch card that was apparently in our room. He was supposed to get back to us but never did. We couldn't find parking anywhere else so went back & parked up. There were empty spaces all weekend. Stressful as we expected a parking fine each time we went back.

Review of Discovery Accomodation Pending review We stayed in Starfish house 6 This was a rebooking due to a death in our family. Our original booking was in a different accommodation and low floor was requested due to my really bad mobility issues. Also requested this due to my 76 year old relative. We purchased the parking permits, £16 for four days, no where to park so had to spend a further £9 a day In the silver street car park. We was originally advised we could use the scratch card in this car park, good job I called the tourist board and asked because this wasn't true, I called the office and re educated Charlotte about this. Every question I asked about the accommodation, location,parking etc they are not very knowledge So arrival is 4pm, from a 9.30am check out,why is it 4pm check in time. There definitely isn't 7 hours of cleaning taking place. The kitchen floor area was filthy, food still all down the side of the cooker, remains of someone's tacos. Hairs in the shower. The living room/kitchen is massive. No coffee table to put your coffee whilst seated on the chairs or two sofas that were Dirty. Now let's talk about getting into the property, got the codes early,but still couldn't get in as wasn't activated until 4pm Went through main door, there's a lift, thought brilliant oh no out of order permanently. At no stage of booking this from the re arranged accommodation was I advised 4 flights of stairs. With the baggage it was a real struggle for my able bodied daughter and hubby. An even bigger struggle for me with herniated discs, fibromyalgia, and arthritis, and arthritis and old age of my relative Called and spoke to Erin who was sympathetic and agreed the lift should be working. She checked on other ground floor apartments but nothing available She advised I needed to e mail management, well I might as well have e mailed the local butcher, no apology, practically called me a liar, saying I was advised of the stairs the lift doesn't work due to it being permanently beyond repair, yet on the lift it says due to covid. What if someone was taken ill paramedics would have a right job getting someone down all those stairs. The bannister going up one flight of stairs is coming away from the wall. As I type this, we should still be there, Thursday till Monday, but we are home, as its left me feeling so ill trying to get up and down those stairs, my back is in a right mess. Never ever again would I give this bunch of cow boys my money again. Never again would I boom with this company, the management are very very rude We are home for a rest before back to work. Really wish we hadn't bothered, the stairs with my mobility issues has left me feeling really poorly.

Booked here for Spring 2020, they cancelled the booking for obvious reasons and since have been giving me the runaround. They do not give refunds, they don't reply to emails. Do not book here, they will just profit off you during a global catastophe.

We booked the Seabreeze for the Krampus Run having stayed in this accommodation before. I called 2 days prior to check if there was any free parking to be told that it had changed and there was no free parking now. When we arrived the meter outside our accommodation and all up the front were covered over with signs on saying free parking between October and March. I contacted Discovery who, despite being misinformed by them, they refused to reimburse the cost of the scratchcard. We were also surprised at how little utensils were available in the room, previously there was ample to use and we struggled to cook basic meals. You could not use the settings on the shower as it flooded the bathroom. The heating didn't work properly and kept defaulting to 28°. Very disappointed this year and will be booking elsewhere in future.

Too far from town, steps, steps and more steps, then more in the actual apartment...60 to be precise! top floor. Stayed in Discovery apartments a lot but usually on Silver Street, very close to amenities. To put the icing on the cake, got a parking ticket, even though we had a parking permit from discovery, but without any instruction as to where to park! Had a sea view, but couldn't see through the windows, cloudy, dirty, and couldn't open them so no sound of the sea.
